Global flexibility from a single supplier
January 31, 2007
Anhydro Industrial & Pharma combines solutions for the pharmaceutical and chemical industries as well as providing small-scale plant equipment and services.
Core competences include evaporators and dryers for pallet of more than 1,000 different product applications, ranging from chemical pigments, polymers, and fillers to flavours, dyestuffs, detergents, meat proteins, coffee, and pharmaceutical products.
Big potential in the pharma sector
"The pharmaceutical sector is enjoying significant growth and customers are increasingly interested in solutions that take account of their own specific requirements," says Søren Sten Rasmussen, Vice President, Industrial & Pharmaceutical, based at Anhydro Head Office in Søborg, near Copenhagen in Denmark.
"Pharmaceutical companies have had to make do with a very limited range of spray dryer options for many years and are now looking for alternative solutions that provide more flexibility and better value for money. Flexibility is a key word for Anhydro and we are gaining recognition as the obvious alternative and take market shares in this profitable market," Søren Sten Rasmussen explains.
Industrial covers many things
The industrial side of the Industrial & Pharma Centre of Excellence covers a wide variety of different segments, in particular within the chemical industry.
"The chemical sector is special in that it is highly cyclical and covers a variety of interesting sub-sectors. Polymers are currently an area in which we are set to exploit a significant potential," Søren Sten Rasmussen continues. "Customers served by the Industrial & Pharma Centre of Excellence are looking for a wide range of equipment and our sales will consist of products and solutions from Anhydro in Germany, the USA and Denmark."
Global approach
The new organizational structure of the company is particularly important for Industrial & Pharma as customers are looking for flexibility on the one hand and a single, global supplier on the other.
"The strategy behind the new organization is vital to our future success as it addresses customer needs by establishing competence centres where we gather our global resources and make them accessible to our customers," Søren Sten Rasmussen concludes.
